Privacy policy

Effective date: August 13, 2026

What matters most

  • We collect account, family profile, and usage information needed to provide Phrasewell.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use child names in marketing.
  • Scripts you see in the app are pre-approved. We do not send your family details to a generative AI provider to write new phrases.
  • You can ask us to delete your account and associated Phrasewell data.

Privacy requests: email hello@phrasewell.net with the subject Privacy request.

Phrasewell helps parents find calm words and next steps for hard moments. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you. For how we handle automation, see the AI use policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Name and email address for your account and sign-in.
  • Children you add: first name, age range, and relationship (for example biological, foster, adoptive, kinship, or step).
  • Optional notes you choose to save in your profile.
  • Feedback on scripts, including ratings, optional comments, and whether we may contact you about a testimonial.
  • Messages you send us by email.

Information generated through the service

  • Which scripts you open (behavior, moment, age range shown, content version, and time).
  • Phrases you save.
  • Onboarding choices and default age or moment settings.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address and basic device or browser details through our hosting and database providers.
  • Authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in (Supabase Auth).
  • Error and diagnostic logs used to keep the service working.

Please do not put Social Security numbers, medical records, court documents, or other sensitive files into comments or profile notes. Phrasewell does not need that information.

2. How we use information

  • Create and maintain your account.
  • Show scripts that match the children and moments you select.
  • Save phrases and preferences you choose to keep.
  • Improve scripts using ratings and comments (we review this as product feedback).
  • Understand whether people are using the app (for example, that a script was opened).
  • Respond to support and privacy requests.
  • Send transactional email about your account (password resets, confirmations, important service notices).
  • Send product updates if you have not opted out.
  • Protect the service, investigate abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not use Phrasewell to diagnose your child, make custody or legal decisions, or provide therapy.

3. How automation and AI are used

Moment Cards in the app are written and approved in advance. Opening a script does not send your child's name, your comments, or your family profile to OpenAI or another generative AI provider to invent a new phrase.

We may use automated tools inside Phrasewell (for example, Growth OS drafts for marketing) that are not part of the parent-facing script experience. See the AI use policy.

4. How we share information

We share information with service providers that help us operate Phrasewell:

  • Vercel: website hosting and deployment.
  • Supabase: authentication and database storage for accounts, children, saved phrases, feedback, and usage events.
  • Resend or Supabase email: sign-in and transactional messages.
  • Klaviyo: marketing email when you join the list or opt in to product updates.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or in a sale or transfer of the service with appropriate confidentiality protections.

5. We do not sell personal information

Phrasewell does not sell personal information. We do not share child names or family profiles with advertisers. We do not use script comments for targeted ads.

6. Children's privacy

Phrasewell is built for adult caregivers. Children do not create accounts. Parents may add a child's first name and age range so scripts can be filtered. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have, email hello@phrasewell.net and we will delete it.

7. Data retention

We keep account and family information while your account is open, plus limited records needed for security, billing (when checkout is live), and legal obligations. You may request deletion by emailing hello@phrasewell.net. Backups held by infrastructure providers may remain for a short period.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to certain processing. Email hello@phrasewell.net with Privacy request in the subject and the email on your Phrasewell account. We may need to verify your identity. We will not treat you differently for exercising a privacy right the law gives you.

9. Security and international processing

We use HTTPS, authentication, and access controls. No online service is perfectly secure. Phrasewell is operated from the United States. Providers such as Vercel and Supabase may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as Phrasewell changes. The effective date above shows the latest revision. If a change materially affects how we use information we already have, we will provide additional notice when the law requires it.
